RH SENOR MILAGRO PULLS THE UPSET
IN DE SAIX STAKES AT DELTA DOWNS

- FINAL WEEKEND OF QUARTER HORSE RACING FOR 2022 IN VINTON, LOUISIANA -


VINTON, LA. – Delta Downs kicked off its final week of American Quarter Horse racing for 2022 on Friday night with an eight-race program featuring the $30,0000 De Saix Stakes for 2-year-old competing at 350 yards. The event was won by a 15-1 longshot Rh Senor Milagro with jockey Guadalupe Lucio, Jr. in the saddle.

Breaking from post position three in a field of nine, Rh Senor Milagro got away from the gate in good order and quickly went to the front while battling with Konnan Cartel to his inside. Nearing the finish Rh Senor Milagro got the best of his rival and won by a length while race favorite Jl Apollitical Miss settled for third, another neck behind the top pair.

Rh Senor Milagro, who is owned by Cuadra Herradura, LLC and trained by Miguel Pizana, reported home in a time of 16.925, which equaled a speed index of 83. Each race on the program was contested over a fast track.

The win by Rh Senor Milagro was the third of his five-race career, which has taken place entirely at Delta Downs this summer. He earned $18,000 for the effort and now has a bankroll of $50,600.

Bred in Louisiana by his owner, Rh Senor Milagro is a 2-year-old sorrel gelding by Mr Piloto, out of the Jet Black Patriot mare Miss Mandy Marie.

Fans who backed Rh Senor Milagro at the wagering windows were rewarded with payoffs of $33.40 to win, $19.40 to place and $6 to show, Konnan Cartel paid $4.40 to place and $2.40 to show. Jl Apollitical Miss was worth $2.10 to show.

Delta Downs will complete its Quarter Horse season with a special 10-race program on Saturday with first post time at 6:15 pm. The card will include six stakes races headed by the $525,420 Louisiana Quarter Horse Association Futurity.
