ON SECOND NIGHT OF TRIALS FOR THE
LOUISIANA LADDIE FUTURITY AT DELTA DOWNS

VINTON, LA. – Delta Downs hosted the final eight qualifying trials for this year’s $331,880 Louisiana Laddie Futurity (RG2) on Saturday night. The top five times of the evening join the five fastest qualifiers from the eight trials that were conducted on Friday in the final on Saturday, May 28.

Saturday’s fastest time was recorded by Maria J. Garza’s Zoominseperately, who took the fourth trial on the card under jockey Victor Urieta, Jr. The Alonzo Neri trainee covered 330 yards in 16.870 seconds, which equaled a speed index of 85. Each race on the program was contested over a fast track.

The win by Zoominseperately was the second of his undefeated career. His maiden-breaking performance came in his debut at Louisiana Downs on March 5 in the Mardi Gras Futurity trials. He earned $6,000 for his effort on Saturday and has now banked a total of $9,600 in his career. He can add another $165,940 to that total if he wins the Laddie final.

Bred in Louisiana by Teddy L. Berry, Zoominseperately is a 2-year-old sorrel gelding by Zoomin for Bux, out of the Separatrist mare Ms Proverbial.

Leaving the gate as a heavy favorite at odds of 4-5 on the toteboard, Zoominseperately paid $3.60 to win.

Listed below are the Saturday’s five finalists for this year’s Lassie Futurity from the fastest time down. The five qualifiers from the first set of trials on Friday included San Lorenzo Jet (16.781), Tha Duke (16.909), Ja Zooms (16.947), Pk Pure Rogue (17.079), and Happy Flyer (17.099).

Delta Downs will now be dark until it starts the third week of Quarter Horse racing on Wednesday night at 6:15 pm. Live racing takes place each Wednesday through Saturday night during the season through July 16.
